Inspection Service, is the City of Foristell’s Building Commissioner.
Mr. Barclay is a Certified ICC Building Inspector/Plans Examiner
and a Certified ASHI Member.
The Building Commissioner performs plan reviews
and inspections on new residential and commercial properties. Building
Permits are required for any new home, as well as for decks, sheds,
pools, basement finishes, additions and major alterations. Commercial
permits are required for any new commercial project including alterations
or additions.
The City of Foristell has adopted the 2003 International
Codes (2003 ICC) and the 2002 National Electrical Code (2002 NEC).
A building permit application must include
the following:
- Site plan:
- Building lines
- Proposed building location
- Lot & plat number

Lot dimensions
-
Easements
-
Existing and Proposed grade
-
Existing & proposed drainage
-
Location of Well, Septic and Drain Field
if applicable
-
Construction plans:
- Front, rear & side elevations
- Construction details including footing/foundation, floor
plan, electrical, plumbing and mechanical plans
- Water and sewer line size and location
- ¼” Scale
- Location of Existing Utilities
*Additional information may be required as determined
by the Building Commissioner

Note:
All commercial construction documents and all engineering computations
shall bear the date issued as well as the signature and seal of
the registered design professional responsible for the design as
required by Section 106 of the 2003 I.B.C. Code.
It is the responsibility of the builder/owner
to insure that the building complies with all applicable subdivision/association
by-laws if any, and to obtain the necessary permits from the respective
fire protection district and any other government agency.
Final inspections or certificates of occupancy
will not be issued until final inspection approval from the Fire
Protection District has been issued and if applicable, final inspection
approval of the septic system completed by St. Charles County.
** An Occupancy Inspection is required for all
existing structures upon any change in ownership, tenancy or occupancy
of such structures.
